Arnold - President
Scott
Arnold is an active freelance percussionist with performance experience
in many local orchestras and wind ensembles, including the Metropolitan
Symphony Orchestra, Kenwood Chamber Orchestra, St. Paul Civic Orchestra,
and the Medalist Band. He is a graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College and
has worked with the Minnesota Orchestra Association at Orchestra Hall. Arnold
is currently a music teacher in the Bloomington school district.
Wendy
Schuh - Vice President
Along with Charles B. Olson, Wendy Schuh is one of the founding members of Encore Wind Ensemble. A graduate of University of Minnesota-Duluth, Wendy plays piccolo in Encore and serves as the ensemble's personnel manager.
Ann Hagen - Secretary/Treasurer & Accessibility Coordinator
Ann Hagen is the Assistant Director of the Minnesota Craniofacicial Research Training Program (MinnCResT) at the University of Minnesota. She has degrees from the University of Michigan and the University of Minnesota both in bassoon performance. Ann also performs regularly with Allegro Sinfonia (Minnesota).
Kate
Barnett
Kate
Barnett has a Bachelor of Music degree from the College of Wooster in Ohio
and a Masters of Music degree from the University of Minnesota, both in
bassoon performance. She has been a bassoonist in Encore since 1996 and has
performed with several other ensembles in the twin cities area over the
last several years. She currently works as a Business Analyst at Ameriprise Financial, Inc.
Rosa Glade Arnold
Rosa is a graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College where she earned degrees in music and education. She is currently the orchestra director at Mounds Park Academy in St. Paul, and spent two summers as the St. Paul Director of Day Jams, a national rock band day camp. She has been a flutist in Encore since 1999.
David Borsheim
David retired to his home town of St Paul after teaching French horn and music theory courses for 31 years at Mansfield University in Pennsylvania. An active freelance performer, he received his music and education degrees from St Thomas and the University of Cincinnati..
John
Lace
John Lace, a trumpet player with extensive performing experience around
the Twin Cities and beyond, is the current director of bands at Anoka High
School. He conducts the North Suburban Concert Band.
Doreen Swanson
Doreen is a registered Professional Engineer working as a Program Manager for Cummins Power Generation in Fridley. She studied French Horn performance at UW-Madison while getting her MS in Mechanical Engineering. She has had the opportunity to play in several different musical organizations in Madison, Bismarck and the Twin Cities over the last 20 years in addition to the Encore Wind Ensemble and the Northern Symphony Orchestra.
